TAV Airports supports innovative initiatives
TAV Airports is offering innovative initiatives the opportunity to meet investors and gain exposure, aiming to foster innovation in future airport and mobility solutions. The fourth "Airport Innovation Days" event will hold its Türkiye final on October 25th at Ankara Esenboğa Airport.
TAV Airports, in partnership with Groupe ADP and Airport International Group (AIG), the operator of Queen Alia International Airport in Jordan, organizes the "Airport Innovation Days" in collaboration with Sifted, a subsidiary of the Financial Times Group. The initiative supports creative startups working in the transportation and aviation sectors.
TAV Airports CEO Serkan Kaptan stated, "Aviation continues to grow globally, with the number of passengers expected to exceed 20 billion in the next 20 years. As one of the world's leading airport operators, we always focus on passenger satisfaction. Our strategy is built on three pillars: digitalization that enhances operational efficiency, sustainability supporting the sector's green transformation, and continuous innovation. Through this program with Groupe ADP, we will offer significant support for Turkish creative initiatives to expand internationally. Additionally, we will uncover solutions that will shape the future travel experience and implement them in our airports."
The event will bring together creative startups from Türkiye, France, and Jordan across four categories this year:
- Green Airport: Solutions aimed at reducing the carbon footprint;
- Passenger Experience: Solutions that enhance the passenger experience within the terminal;
- Airport Operations: Solutions ensuring efficient management of airport facilities;
- Open Category: Solutions making the airport experience innovative and attractive.
The most innovative solutions will be awarded at three regional finals: October 25th in Ankara, November 6th in Amman, and December 4th in Paris. Finalist startups will present their solutions to an expert jury and participate in a mentorship program in their respective regions. Winners will have the opportunity to test the feasibility of their ideas at airports in their geographical areas. The winners from Jordan and Türkiye will be invited to the regional final in France to present their innovations to an international panel of experts.
TAV Airports, Groupe ADP, and AIG will provide financial support of up to 50,000 euros for the winning startups to test their projects, allowing them to bring their innovative ideas to life and contribute to the future of airport solutions.
Applications can be submitted via www.airportinnovationdays.com until September 15, 2024.
