TAV Airports celebrates its 25th anniversary!

TAV Airports marks its quarter-century milestone. The company's journey, which began in Istanbul with 9 million passengers, has reached 107 million passengers and a portfolio of 15 airports in eight countries this year.

TAV Airports, a member of Groupe ADP, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Established on January 10, 2000, TAV Airports welcomed its first passengers at the newly opened Atatürk Airport international terminal and has served 1.5 billion passengers over the past quarter century.

TAV Airports CEO Serkan Kaptan stated, “TAV Airports has transformed into a global brand on a journey that began in a very different world compared to today. Born from the vision of our founders, Tepe and Akfen, TAV Airports grew by going public in 2007 and forming a portfolio of 10 airports within its first decade. Since 2012, we have continued our journey as member of Groupe ADP, the world's largest airport operations platform.”

“Today, we operate 15 airports in eight countries. Together with our service companies – ATÜ Duty-Free, BTA, Havaş, TAV Operation Services, TAV Technologies, and TAV Security – our global footprint extends to over 100 airports in more than 30 countries. In our first year, we served 9 million passengers; in 2024, we reached 107 million passengers. With 44,000 employees, including subsidiaries, and a market value of up to $3.2 billion last year, we have established ourselves as one of the world's leading airport operators, emerging from Türkiye.

“In the past three years, we implemented the largest investment program in our history, reaching €2.5 billion. We have secured the second 25 years of TAV Airports and built a strong foundation to continue our growth on a global scale. As part of this program, we opened a new terminal in Almaty in 2024. We will complete our investments in Antalya and Ankara in the first half of this year. Over the next three to four years, we plan to invest an additional €150-300 million in Almaty. Alongside ongoing tenders in Montenegro and Kuwait, we will continue to explore new opportunities worldwide.

“Many managers and colleagues who have significantly contributed to TAV Airports are no longer with us today. We honor their memory with respect and gratitude, and we remember everyone who played a part in bringing TAV Airports to this point with appreciation. Many individuals who started their careers here are now serving successfully in different parts of the sector, which fills us with pride. In our second 25 years, we will continue to strive to provide the best travel experience for our passengers and create the highest value for our stakeholders,” he added.
