TAV Airports continued its activities to contribute to the development of society and the planet, without compromising its principle of value creation, even during the Covid-19 pandemic, which had a negative impact on the global economy. Through the analysis of the changing needs of the stakeholders and the newly developing trends, the sustainability strategy of the Group was reviewed and its integration into corporate strategies was strengthened. The Covid-19 crisis facilitated the expansion of sustainability programs and planned changes.

The sustainability approach was defined together with Groupe ADP for the 2022-2025 period and integrated into the corporate strategy. Action plans were created for its implementation. The plan created by the common approaches of both groups is based on four main axes. These are to create a new airport model with a long-term perspective, to act around a common industrial approach, to strengthen with clear priorities and measurable targets and to be inclusive of all subsidiaries at the Group level.

TAV Airports’ governance structure was also updated in order to carry out the sustainability activities within the scope of the 2022-2025 Strategic Plan. Sustainability, defined as “the organization’s ability to achieve business goals and increase long-term shareholder value by integrating economic, environmental, and social opportunities into business strategies,” has a strong relationship with corporate social-environmental performance and financial success in the market. Hence, sustainability is also important in terms of its short and long-term effects on various stakeholders.

TAV Airports’ management approach acknowledges that the expected results can only be achieved with an effective organizational structure in sustainability, which is considered as an issue that requires organizational and cultural change. Accordingly, the special governance structure of TAV Airports is designed to ensure the dissemination and internalization of the sustainability approach in all geographies and at all levels of operation. It consists of organizational units to both monitor the adaptation processes to the ADP CSR Group Strategy 2025 and implement TAV corporate sustainability strategies.
