Skytrax names Medina the “best regional airport in the Middle East”
Medina Airport in Saudi Arabia ranks first as the best regional airport in the Middle East at the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2021. The other airports in TAV’s portfolio –Zagreb, Tbilisi and Riga- are among the top 10 best airports in the Eastern Europe region.
A member of Groupe ADP, TAV have four airports among the Skytrax World Airport Awards lists this year.

TAV Airports undertook the build-operate-transfer project of Madinah Airport, the first airport privatization project in Saudi Arabia, together with its consortium partners and began operations in 2012. A new terminal was built with an investment of approximately USD 1.2B, which became the first LEED-certificated building in the MENA region.
TAV holds the operating rights of the airport until 2037. Mainly serving Hajj and Umrah passengers, Medina Airport welcomed 8.4 million pax in 2019.
The World Airport Awards began in 1999, when Skytrax launched its first global, Airport customer satisfaction survey. They are regarded as a quality benchmark for the world airport industry, assessing customer service and facilities across over 500 airports.
